Estate On Second Wedding | Paulo & Jacquelyn

Paulo + Jacquelyn | Santa ana, CA

when I arrived to the hotel where Jacquelyn was getting ready, I walked into a semi-quiet room . zen'd out spirits were getting their makeup done, little flower girls were playing quietly under the eye of mom, and Jacquelyn was calm, ready . quite a different atmosphere than I'm used to walking into on wedding days - and of course it didn't stay this way the whole time - but I could tell from walking into that quiet moment, that their was focus . focus on what the day holds . not just another tradition . not just another wedding day full of the festivities that every other wedding day holds - champagne, laughing, a little stress, texts + phone calls, nerves, chic-fil-a  .
no, this day may have had each of those things, matched with giddy excitement shared with bridesmaids - but an underlying focus, zen, and heart-felt adoration was paved as the foundation . I could see it when Jacquelyn first got her dress on, the way she covered her face as reality sunk in a little more . I could see it when she wrote her letter to Paulo, a silent, slow, and timely moment with sniffles every so often . I could see it when, instead of turning him around immediately at the first look so he could see her, she just wrapped her arms around him from behind, embracing the man that all her focus had been on, and melting into the moment without rushing it . I could see it throughout the dinner and reception, always keeping her hands held in his, no matter who demanded her attention .

this day wasn't rushed . not one moment of it . & that truly is what i desire for each of my couples . a slow, intentional, capable of remembering kind of wedding day . also what i desire - is a kickass dance floor with everyone feeling it -- because I swear, there wasn't one person sitting down for this wedding .. and man could they dance.

paulo + jacquelyn - this is for you .

Iceland Elopement

ICELAND ELOPEMENT | GRANT + HANNAH

- push play

the moments that are uncapturable are the ones on your first date, or your first kiss, or when you meet each other’s families for the first time, the long talks on your driveway before saying goodbye at the end of the night, the disagreements + growing pains, the inside jokes, or the good morning texts . those moments are unforgettable memories between the two of you alone .

your wedding day will be no different . it will be a sweet memory . except that there’s time to plan the moment in time – time to ask someone to be there to capture it all, so it won’t just have an incredible story, but will have tangible memories to go with it . photos to look at for a lifetime . photos that will relinquish joy & soothe heartache when hard times come .

it’s not always an easy decision . there are so many questions to think about .
where? when? who do you want there? what do you want it to look like? feel like? how do you want to remember the day you vow your whole lives + beings to each other?

but once the decision is made – once you’ve decided to elope – and all the weight + pressure of organizing a mega event surrounding your vows is gone, and you’re able to see it clear as day what you want and how you want it – & then you decide to have someone else there to capture it all – who will it be?

hannah + grant asked me to be the one to document their elopement in iceland and let me tell you, I was beyond thrilled . excited to be shooting a kind + beautiful couple in Iceland, but really just so honored to be the person there to witness + capture such a sweet moment in time .

& to hear their story – that hannah had a crush on grant (her older brother’s best friend) since she was a kid, to then marrying him now – it made it all the more special .

so on august 14th, a day special to grant & his family, standing on the coast of a small town in Iceland, josh & I witnessed + captured the commitment of love between these two . and not just love, but endless, relentless amounts of joy .

in the days following, we’d travel around the golden circle with them, shooting them at some of the most dreamiest locations – an epic waterfall, an abandoned Navy plane that had crashed in the 70’s (everyone survived), an isolated + iconic black church on a lava field peninsula, and a natural hot spring in the icelandic highlands .

this was definitely a highlight of 2017 .
enjoy .

Tulum Wedding | Peter + Casie

A Barefoot Wedding in Tulum, Mexico

it's always such an honor to be invited into a wedding day . but when the wedding day includes a wedding weekend, and that weekend is in a destination such as Tulum, Mexico, you automatically get welcomed in as family . & this wedding was no different .

my sweet friend Peyton joined me to assist, and we were both welcomed with open arms the moment we landed . joining them at their epic rehearsal dinner at Hartwood (the most insane food menu), taking part in the family style dinner, meeting + hearing decade old intimate stories from their families toasts - we just immediately felt a part of Peter + Casie's family + wedding weekend.

-

a gloomy, rainy, peaceful morning at Sanara Resort in Tulum, Mexico -- ending with an evening of clear skies, tequila encouraged dancing, the biggest smiles, and Peter + Casie happily married as husband + wife .

this destination wedding was one for the books . Casie has the most insane style, carefully curated + aesthetically beautiful . & luckily for us all, she found a wedding planner + stylist to match her vision & exceed all expectations - Diana Romo . you'll see as you scroll through the reception + cocktail hour details how much attention they paid to detail - simply matchless . i love a well thought out table design!

we had the best time being a part of this sweet beachside wedding in Tulum . Peter + Casie, you two are incredible & your love is inspiring .

enjoy xx
